  1. Go to HoustonVotersGuide.org.
  2. Click on Sample Ballot.
  3. Enter your name, your address or your Voter Registration Certificate Number.
  4. Make sure your personal information is correct, then click on “Sample Ballot” to view your ballot just as it will look hen you go to
    vote.
  5. You may print your sample ballot, take notes, and bring it with you
    when you go to vote.

Registered voters without photo ID, who cannot reasonably obtain one, may sign a form and present the original or a copy of one of the following documents with the voters name and address to vote a regular ballot:

  • Texas met registration card
  • Con ifird binh muluate
  • Current utility bill
  • Rank statement
  • Government Meek
  • Paycheck
  • Any other governnsent document such as an out of state driver’s license or expired Texas driver’s license

 APPLYING TO VOTE BY MAIL

You must apply to vote each year or election. Applicants who are 65 years of age or older or are disabled qualify to apply for Annual Application for Ballot By Mail (ABBM). You may apply for a ballot by mail,if you are registered to vote and meet one of the following criteria

  • Age 65 or older by Election Day
  • Will be outside Harris County for ALL of the Early Voting period and on Election Day
  • Are confined in jail or Involuntary Civil Commitment but otherwise eligible to vote
  • Have a disability, sickness, or physical condition that prevents appearing in person without the likelihood of needing personal assistance or of injuring your health
  • Are expecting to give birth within three weeks before or after Election Day

What to take to the polls
You may use one of the seven forms of photo ID listed below

Note:

  • Expired IDs are permitted for uP 10 4 Years.
  • Persons yo years or older may use an expired ID, regardless of expiration date. ID address does not have to match the voter registration address.
  • The name on the photo ID should match the voter registration card or be “substantially similar.” If the names don’t match exactly but are substantially similar, the water son initial a box for a similar name when signing in to vote.

 Ho do I register to vote?

Every citizen who wants to vote must be registered in his or her country of residence. You do not need to register before every election, but you should notify the Vote Registrar if you change your name or address or have not vote in the last four years. You must register to vote 30 days before Election Day

5 QUALIFICATIONS TO REGISTER TO VOTE:

  • You are an American citizen and
  • You are at least 17 years, 10 months of age (you must be 18 to vote) and
  • You are a resident of Texas and
  • You have not been declared mentally incapacitated without the right to vote by a court and
  • You have not been convicted of a felony. If you have been convicted of a felony, you can vote if you have completed all terms of your sentence or have been pardoned.

Voter registration applications are available at many state agencies, at libraries and community centers, or by calling 713.755.6965.

You may also download and print an application at HarrisVotes.com. The application must be printed, signed, and mailed or delivered in person to a voter registrar. There is no online voter registration in Texas.

VOTE EVEN IF YOU ARE A SUSPENDED VOTER

You can still vote if your voter registration is in suspense. “Suspense” means that your county voter registrar needs to confirm your voting address.

VOTING WITH A DISABILITY

If a voter is physically unable to enter the Vote Center, he or she may ask that an election officer bring a ballot to a car parked at the curbside voting location. Ways to vote 

The League of Women Voters fights for the freedom of ALL to vote. Below are the ways to exercise your right to vote. Whichever way you choose to vote, be sure to first check your voter registration status at HarrisVotes.com. You must be registered before you can.

VOTE BY MAIL

If you applied to vote by mail

  • Ballots are mailed out 30 to 45 days before an election or 7 days after the county election office receives an application.
  • Be sure to:
  • Mark your ballot using a black or blue pen;
  • Place your ballot in the ballot envelope and seal it;
  • Place the ballot envelope in the carrier envelope;
  • Complete alI information on the carrier envelope, seal it, and sign the flap of the carrier envelope;
  • Pay attention to the voter ID
  • Mail in your ballot as soon as possible. It must be received by 7:oo p.m. on Election Day.
  • Track your ballot online at com.
  • You must apply to vote by mail every year.

If you want to hand deliver your vote by mail ballot

  • You may hand deliver your marked ballot in person to the county election office on Election Day while polls are open.
  • You must show your photo II) when delivering the ballot, and sign a form.

VOTE EARLY IN PERSON

  • You may vote early at any voting location in Harris County.

VOTE IN PERSON USING CURBSIDE VOTING

If you are physically unable to enter the polling place without personal assistance or likelihood of injuring your health, you may ask that an election officer bring a ballot to your car.

  • After you mark your ballot, give it to the election officer or hand it to a companion to deposit in the ballot box for you.
